Maine Shrimp
Maine shrimp are notorious for their sweet, succulent flavor and are the favorite of many local seafood lovers. Our shrimp are smaller than the typical “cocktail shrimp” and a typical one pound count is 60-70 which makes them a versatile choice for chowders, stews, sautés and casseroles. Our Lucky Catch Maine shrimp are de-shelled before they’re flash frozen to provide an easy to prepare 1 lb pouch of uncooked meat.

The shrimp fishery’s cyclical nature forced shortened seasons from 2002-2004 but currently the Maine shrimp stocks are sustaining record levels. Previously restrictive regulations now allow for a full fishing season from December through May, although most of the catch is harvested during the coldest months of January, February and March when the shrimp migrate closer to shore. The two methods for harvesting Maine shrimp are trawling and trapping, pictured above.
* Maine shrimp must be accompanied by live lobster, lobster tails, or lobster bakes otherwise a $30.00 shipping charge will be incurred.
